Don’t have time to go to the gym? Is it too cold, icy or wet outside? Don’t have the money to join a gym? It seems like too much effort to get to the gym?
OK, that happens. But, here are some ideas you can use at home or at work to make sure your body still gets a workout! And, did you know that the 30 or 60 minutes of daily exercise you need doesn’t have to been done all at the same time? You can do these little things throughout the day and without really trying you’ve got your exercise done for the day!!
Here are a few ideas and I’m sure you can come up with lots of other good ideas!
One legged standing while washing dishes
Yoga poses while TV watching
Every time you get up or sit down in your chair hover above the chair for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Take two stairs at a time
Lunge your way down your driveway
Wall sitting while tooth brushing
But don’t use this as an excuse for cutting your tooth brushing short!
Do home chores that require lifting, stretching or… If you convince yourself that pulling weeds, raking, mowing, painting, window washing or furniture moving is part of your fitness program, you might successfully accomplish two things at once. A win-win in anyone’s book!
